What day is Move-In?

Move-In for Spring 2025 residents, both new and returning, begins on Saturday, January 11 at 12PM (noon).

Guests Assisting with Move-In

Campus Housing defines guests as any individual that is not a roommate of the assigned resident. This includes family members or friends as well as students that reside in a residence hall location different than the hosting resident.

All guests must be escorted by and in the presence of the resident hosting them while in the residence hall. Guests must have a govt. or state-issued photo ID on them.

Fall-to-Spring Interim Housing is from 12PM on Saturday, December 14, 2024, to 12PM on Saturday, January 11, 2025.

Only Housing residents with an active Fall 2024 Housing assignment and a Spring 2025 Housing assignment are eligible for the Interim Housing period between the Fall 2024 and Spring 2025 terms.

Spring 2025 Housing residents that are not current Fall 2024 residents will not be able to move into Campus Housing earlier than Spring Move-In on Saturday, January 11 (after 12PM), unless they are part of an approved early arrival group or have an academic class or purpose that starts prior to January 11. Please contact Campus Housing if you have questions or requests for early arrival as mentioned in the previous sentence.

If you are unable to move in prior to Monday, January 13, please contact the Housing Office (housing@uic.edu) so that your late arrival will not be mistaken for a change in your housing plans (such as cancellation).

We recommend that residents moving into Campus Housing label their personal belongings, including:

  • moving boxes, Rubbermaid containers, and similar
  • personal items that are transported in a standalone manner
  • luggage, duffel bags, and similar

Suggested labeling methods include using painters tape or paper with the resident’s name and UIN on it. This allows us to help assist residents with any items that may be misplaced during their Move-In process.
