Intern Housing options
Campus Housing has available accommodations for interns working in the Chicagoland area, whether you are local to Chicago or moving here for your summer internship.
Intern Housing accommodations are available from May 18, 2025 – August 2, 2025 and include the following options:
MRH (811 W. Maxwell St.) features fully furnished apartments with one private bedroom (private apartment), two private bedrooms (shared apartment), or four private bedrooms (shared apartment). Each apartment has a bathroom, kitchen, and living room space (4 bedroom apartments have 2 bathrooms).
ARC (940 W. Harrison St.) features shared (2-person) or private rooms in either suite (attached bathroom shared by 2-4 people) or traditional (community bathroom) style setup. ARC also features a fully functional kitchen in one of the larger lounge spaces that can be used for occasional food preparation needs. We also partner with Microfridge to provide the option of renting a combination microwave/refrigerator unit during your stay. For more information about renting a unit please visit this page.

Here at UIC, we offer both private and shared (2-person) occupancy rooms in air-conditioned residence halls throughout our east, south, and west sides of campus.
- private rooms with a community bathroom on each floor
- share a bathroom within their own private suite
- apartment-style units provide everyone with their own private bedroom, sharing the common spaces within the unit
Minimum contract duration is one week for any intern housing stay.

Reservations
To begin the reservation and payment process, apply online. Once you have applied, we will contact you with the next steps.

Deposit Policy
Interns must complete an Intern Housing Application and submit a 10% non-refundable deposit to the Intern Housing Office to reserve a room. The deposit will be applied to the balance due for housing. All payments are made via an electronic payment link using a valid credit card.
Cancellation Policy
To cancel a reservation, email notice must be provided to UIC Intern Housing 48 prior to arrival. If notice of cancellation is received after an intern moves in, a charge of 50% of the remaining housing fee will be assessed. PLEASE NOTE: Refunds can only be processed back to the original payment method and account. Refunds cannot be processed if the original payment account has been closed or cannot be used.
Damages and Incidentals
Each intern will be charged a $250 deposit, added to the final bill for damage and incidentals during their stay. This deposit is refundable provided there are no lost or damaged items from the room occupied. All monies will be returned to the intern after checkout and room inspection has been completed.
